In an age where everything is controlled by personal cell phones and people have their devices on them at all times, mobile access control isn\u2019t an exception; it\u2019s fast becoming the new norm for security savvy building owners and managers worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mobile access control<\/a> is like a digital security guard on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Instead of requiring a badge or a physical key, this security guard requires verification and authentication via the cloud and a mobile device before allowing entry into a building.\u00a0<\/span>Technology researcher Gartner has reported that mobile access controls are no longer just on enterprise wishlists; these <\/span>solutions are now mainstream<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

With any newer technology, there are always misunderstandings. Here are some common misconceptions about mobile access control that MVI hears most frequently.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. We Won\u2019t Be Able to Get in if There\u2019s a Power Outage or My Phone is Dead<\/strong><\/p>\n

A big concern with mobile access controls is that people will not be able to get past the door if there is a power outage or their mobile device isn\u2019t charged.
